The Matias Mini Tactile Pro features keys with Alps action, with a clear click and a spring that provides extra feedback. On half of the impression you clearly notice that the keystroke is registered, while the resistance of the keys is not that high. The layout is tailored for use with Mac OSX, so that Ctrl and Alt are next to each other.
Mini keyboard with mechanical ALPS switches
The ALPS switches are mechanical keys with a design originally from the Japanese company Alps. The originals are no longer made, but copies still exist. The operation of these Alps switches is very similar to that of the original buckling springs in the IBM Model M mechanical keyboard. Alps keys are held up with a spring, but with the Alps mechanics, this folds in half and touches the contact point itself, registering a stroke. You can also feel the moment that the spring snaps in your fingers, so that you also receive feedback from these mechanical keys from the registration to the computer.
No more flat keytops, use the traditional sculpted keytops
The problem with flat and wide keytops is that it makes it very easy to slide out of your original finger position and lose your bearings. The Mini Tactile Pro bucks this trend because it has traditional sculpted keytops that are curved to fit your fingertips, and keep you from sliding out of original position.
No more letter ghosting, thanks to Anti-Ghosting Circuitry
In most cases keyboards leave out certain letters or keystrokes because the keyboard can't keep up with your typing speed. The Mini Tactical Pro has you covered thanks to it's Anti-Ghosting Circuitry (n-key rollover). Rollover is the ability of a computer keyboard to properly handle multiple simultaneous keystrokes. A keyboard with n-key rollover can correctly detect the input of every key on the keyboard at the same time, no matter how many other keys are pressed.
