The i-Tec USB 3.0 USB-C Thunderbolt 3x 4K Docking Station Gen 2 + Power Delivery 100W is a multifunction adapter that provides your Macbook with more connections. Ideal when you want to use up to 3 external displays, set up a wired internet connection or connect peripherals. Thanks to the power delivery function, you can charge your laptop via a USB-C cable (up to max 100W). In addition, this docking station features an integrated network port for connecting to the LAN network, USB ports and audio and microphone support.
The dock can be used with almost all notebooks as it supports connection to all common ports: USB 3.0, USB-C and Thunderbolt” 3/4, while supporting all common current operating systems.
Connecting 3 displays to Macbook's with an M1 and M2 chip
It's a problem we often hear about. You have a Macbook with an M1 or M2 chip and would like to connect multiple displays. Unfortunately, the M1/ M2 chip only supports one display/monitor. By using this docking station from i-Tec you can connect three monitors to your Macbook with M1/ M2 chip. The docking station is equipped with a special video card. If you want to use two or three monitors you can connect them via the Display Port and / or HDMI input on the docking station. The HDMI and Display Port actually use the built-in video card required for Macbook's with M1 and M2 chip (DisplayLink technology). The docking station is certified by Apple and therefore works seamlessly with your Macbook M1/ M2.
However, connection to three monitors is only possible if the laptop has a Thunderbolt 3/4 port or a USB-C port that supports video transfer (USB-C DP Alt mode). When connected to a notebook with USB 3.0 port, only two monitors are supported.
