From an 8-color screen to a 64-color screen
The first version of the ELEMNT Roam had a color screen, although these colors were often not very visible. The new Wahoo ELEMNT Roam now has a 64-color screen instead of an 8-color screen. This brings the new ELEMNT Roam to exactly the same level in terms of screen and colors as the ELEMNT Bolt V2. Due to the improvements to the screen, the map is much more visible, and the data on the screen is clearer and easier to read.
Larger internal memory
The internal memory of the first Roam was rather modest at 4 GB. The second generation of the Bolt received 16 GB, while the new Roam does even better with a total memory of 32 GB. But the question is, do you really need that much memory? On the other hand, it’s always better to have too much than too little.
Charging with USB C
The new version of the Wahoo ELEMNT Roam is equipped with a USB-C port. The previous version had a regular USB port.
Multi-band / Dual-band GPS
The new Wahoo ELEMNT Roam V2 uses multi-band GPS, making the GPS position more accurate. This is not only useful for cyclists but also for those who practice their sports in the woods!
In terms of operation, there has also been a change. The Wahoo Roam V2 still does not have a touchscreen, but that doesn’t mean the device is difficult to operate. The buttons are elevated, making them easy to operate even with gloves on!
Backups in the Wahoo Cloud
With the new Roam, you can restore your backup data more easily. You can’t just make a backup yourself, but Wahoo does it automatically for you! Through the menu and the Companion app, you can restore a backup.
Track glucose levels while cycling
With the Supersapiens sensor, you can monitor your glucose level while cycling. If you have such a sensor, keep in mind that it does not send the information directly to the Wahoo ELEMNT Roam V2. The interaction goes through the smartphone, so you need to have it with you to use this function. This is, of course, a great feature for people who have trouble monitoring their glucose levels!
