Why change your Apple Watch band?
For generations, watch lovers have known that a quick and inexpensive way to get the feeling of getting a "new" watch is to change the band. This process has not always been simple, as changing the band on most watches requires special tools and, of course, finding the right size. Some watches make it easy to change the strap with various "quick release" systems. However, most of these systems use proprietary band ends, which limits your options.
For the Apple Watch, it's pretty simple to change the band, and every time you do, it feels like a whole new watch on your wrist, because each band has its own personality.
Which size to choose?
There are two important factors to consider when choosing the size of your Apple Watch band. The first is to make sure that the band is designed for your Apple Watch. Finding the perfect size is very easy, as you only need to know the size of your Apple Watch model.
Beware: there are two groups of bands. Those that are compatible with 38, 40 and 41 mm cases, and others that are compatible with 42, 44 or 45 mm cases. This means that if you buy a bracelet that is compatible with the 40mm model, it will also fit the 38 and 41mm models, but not the 42, 44 or 45mm models and vice versa.
However, you may need to measure your wrist size (in millimeters). Depending on the strap, different sizes are available. For example, the modern Apple Watch buckle has three sizes, the Apple Watch sports band is S/M or M/L (Small, Medium, Large) in length, and some are "standard size" because of their built-in adjustment.
