Once you've received your Wahoo KICKR POWER you'll obviously want to unpack and start using it as soon as possible. To help you do this we have outlined some important steps to follow. Follow these steps carefully to get the most out of your Wahoo KICKR POWER!
1. Unboxing
A big advantage to the Wahoo KICKR POWER is that it is already almost completely ready to use. The legs are already mounted and there is already an 11 speed cassette on the trainer. If you are using an 11 speed Shimano or SRAM groupset, then you can get started right away. If you use a different groupset, you will have to replace the cassette.

TIP: If you are mounting an 8-, 9- or 10-speed cassette, first install the 1.85mm spacer that comes with the KICKR. For 11-speed cassettes, the 1.85mm spacer is not required. |
2. Setting the height
The trainer is adjustable in height to ensure that your bike will be level in the trainer. A mountain bike has a different height than a racing bike. This can be adjusted very easily via the turning knob at the bottom of the trainer. Below is a short film about how to do this:
3. Installing your bike
To use this trainer you need to remove the rear wheel from your bike. You can easily secure your bike by using a quick release or socket. If the rear wheel is secured with a quick release, you can easily secure it with the Wahoo KICKR quick release. See the instructional video below to see how to secure your bike.
4. Start cycling
Once your bike is attached to the trainer you can start cycling. The Wahoo KICKR POWER V5 will calibrate itself for an accurate power measurement. If you have an older Wahoo KICKR POWER then you will need to do the calibration yourself using the Wahoo App.
5. Complete your Set-up
