Apple MagSafe 1 to MagSafe 2 converter
The MagSafe 1 and MagSafe 2 adapters do not differ in function and capacity. Only the connectors (connection to the MacBook) are different. The MagSafe 2 connector is flatter and wider than its predecessor, the magSafe 1. This is because Apple has made the latest range of MacBooks thinner than the predecessors. This transformation also required a new connector; the MagSafe 2. Both the MagSafe 1 and the MagSafe 2 have a magnetic connector, this has remained the same.

The MagSafe to MagSafe 2 converter lets you use the MagSafe connector on your LED Cinema Display, Thunderbolt Display, or MagSafe power adapter to charge your Mac with MagSafe 2.
